A blog entry is like a journal entry because it is stream of consciousness writing. It is “in the moment” writing. And yet, it is not like a journal entry because I know that it is going to be read by others.

I suppose some bloggers use their blog for self-disclosure; to write about the most intimate details of their lives. I am not one of those writers. The question then becomes, why am I doing this?

To practice my writing. I have to write about something. I could write about something that has fascinated me for a long time– the relationship between language and reality. How do words connect to what is real? How does language relate to what is called “reality”?

This may, or may not, be of interest to anyone else. I will keep writing. And continue to learn more about creating a blog.

Meanwhile, I will write a few sentences to describe the process of setting up this blog.
